Taiwan’s struggling wind sector gets a boost as Vestas secures turbine deal

Vestas has confirmed an order from Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) for 33 V236-15MW turbines for Taiwan’s 495MW Fengmiao 1 offshore wind project. This marks the first zero-subsidy Round 3 project in Taiwan to reach financial close, a key milestone for the island’s struggling offshore wind sector. Vestas Asia Pacific president Purvin Patel emphasized the project’s role in advancing Taiwan’s renewable energy goals.
