The Ministry of Economic Affairs announced on 23 July 2024 that the Taiwan Industrial Production Index increased by 13.23% in June 2024 compared to last year, with the index now at 94.09. The manufacturing sector increased by 13.50%, electricity and gas supply grew by 9.07%, and water supply climbed by 1.73% year-over-year in June.
As for the manufacture of chemical materials and fertilizers, the index went up by 5.82 percent. The index for other chemical products decreased 3.2 percent year-on-year in June. The plastic products index saw a modest growth of 2.08 percent compared to June last year.
The industrial production, manufacture of chemical materials and fertilizers, and plastic product indexes have experienced year-on-year growth in April, May, and June this year. The index for other chemical products was up in April and May but declined in June compared to last year.
