
In Kaohsiung port, Evergreen Marine’s NT$32.8 billion new base was opened. Terminal 7 was opened for business by Taiwan’s Transport Minister, Kaohsiung Mayor, Taiwan International Ports Corporation and Evergreen Marine.
Taiwan International Ports Corporation said that Terminal 7 was built with the most advanced equipment and will boost Kaohsiung Port’s international rankings and increase efficiency. The terminal has five 18-meter berths, 24 gantry cranes, and 60 automated rail-mounted cranes that can operate without workers and will make use of AI to improve efficiency.
Evergreen Marine said the terminal is expected to handle 6.5 million 20-foot containers annually in the future.
