Taiwanese offshore wind contractor Dong Fang orders subsea vessel

Dong Fang Offshore, a Taiwanese offshore services provider, has signed a US$125.9M contract with Vard for a new subsea construction vessel, its third from the shipbuilder. The 121-meter-long vessel will support offshore wind and telecoms projects, featuring a 250-tonne crane, 1,200 m² work deck, ROV hangars, and battery-hybrid propulsion. It will accommodate up to 130 people and be equipped for cable repair, trenching, and motion-compensated operations. The hull will be built in Romania, with final outfitting and delivery in Norway by early Q2 2027.
