As a large ammonia producer, Taiwan Fertilizer will actively develop its clean energy business, by investing in the hydrogen energy supply chain sector with liquid ammonia storage, transportation, and procurement capabilities. An ammonia-hydrogen cracking plant will also be planned to establish Taiwan’s ammonia energy industry supply chain and form a hydrogen energy platform.
The utilization of hydrogen energy is an essential part of Taiwan’s 2050 net zero plan, and liquid ammonia is the best carrier of hydrogen energy. The target for hydrogen combustion power generation in Taiwan is 9 to 12% of the overall power supply by 2030.
