
In October Taiwan’s petrochemical industry imported a record amount of Russian naphtha. According to Kpler, these Russian imports accounted for about 114,000 barrels a day, or 66 percent of its total imports of the feedstock for the month. This increase made Russia Taiwan’s top supplier, taking over the number one spot from the United Arab Emirates.
It was reported that a lot of this Naphtha is supplied by Novatek. Russian fuel producers have been expanding in Asia and Latin America after western countries and their allies, earlier the main consumers of Russia’s oil products, banned the imports following the invasion of Ukraine.
