Under the collaboration, Nan Ya Plastics will procure biomass-derived acetone from Mitsui Chemicals to produce biomass-based bisphenol A (BPA) in Taiwan. The two companies, both certified under the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS system, aim to produce sustainable plastics like epoxy and polycarbonate resins. These biomass-derived materials, which have similar properties to petroleum-based products, will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and contribute to carbon neutrality. The partnership, initiated in January 2025, aims to expand eco-friendly product development across the supply chain.
