Ministry of Environment approves seventh LNG terminal in Kaohsiung

The Ministry of Environment has approved CPC Corporation’s proposed LNG terminal project in Kaohsiung, also called the seventh LNG terminal. In a press release, CPC Corporation said that if the intercontinental terminal is completed as scheduled in 2031, it is estimated that it can supply 6 million metric tons of natural gas per year, which will not only help the Talin Power Plant increase gas and reduce coal, but also help Kaohsiung’s local industrial boilers to switch from coal to gas, and reduce overall emissions in the South of Taiwan.
