The Economic Development Bureau said that 71 existing industrial pipelines are under the jurisdiction of Kaohsiung City, with a total length of 932 kilometers. Of these pipelines, 59 are in use to transport various chemicals, including ethylene, propylene, butylene, butadiene, nitrogen, hydrogen, and methane.
Chen Yiliang, chief secretary of the Economic Development Bureau, said that the primary goal is to improve the safety of pipeline maintenance and operation. The Kaohsiung authorities continue promoting the supervision, inspection, disaster prevention, and emergency response planning of the pipeline network. There is also an important focus on strengthening the digital transformation of industrial pipeline information and providing 3D map data of the pipeline network.
