Fire at fiber factory leaves two dead 19 injured.

A fire at a chemical fiber factory in Hsinchu County early yesterday killed two people and injured 19, according to Far Eastern New Century Corp.

The blaze, caused by a gas explosion from an insulation pipe leak, broke out at 2:53 a.m. and was extinguished by 3:30 a.m. One worker died at the scene, while another was pronounced dead at the hospital. Five people sustained severe injuries, and 14 had minor wounds. Despite the incident, factory operations remain largely unaffected.
